Dessert Escape, a TTRPG about sentient sweets
A downloadable game
You are all small desserts that, one way or another, have come to life!
From this day on, you’ll be known to humanity as “Dessies”.
Now, you want to live your life to the fullest, free from the shackles of the place you were created at. So, you decide to escape!
But it won't be easy, the world can be a treacherous place for small food like yourselves.
In Dessert Escape, you'll play as a Dessy, a dessert that has come to life. The world is masssive and brand new to you, so you better be ready to have some fun exploring it!
What you'll find in the manual:
- Character creation rules, with a table to roll for random desserts, or to use as inspiration
- 1d20 System that only requires 1 (or 2) d20 to play
- Difficulty table, Action rules, Energy rules and Combat rules
- Setting ideas for different adventures
- Ready to Play Adventure set in a lab
- Character Sheet
It also includes illustrations made by me! Hope you feel inspired by the different Dessies included, so you can create your own.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This game is supposed to be silly and fun, and its goal is to make the players laugh along the way. When your character is so small in a big world, the change in perspective can create many possibilities!
Play around with size differences. A simple chair can become a challenging mountain to climb, a fridge is a cave filled with strange objects and smells, and a pet can be the most scary monster of all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To be added in the future:
- Soon i'll add sample characters so you can use them in the ready-to-play adventure or any other campaign. Just print them and play!
- I'll add a print-friendly version of both the manual and the character sheets
- If there's enough demand for it, i'll add new ready-to-play adventure modules
- Maybe a progression system, in case someone wants to create a long campaign for this. This system is meant to be used for one-shots, but perhaps i could add some optional rules to adapt it for longer formats of play? Let me know if you guys would want this!

Hello. I want to ask you, I would like to translate your game into my language and post it on my blog about role-playing games. It will open by specifying you as the author and attaching a link to the page with the game on itch.io
hi!! Thanks so much for the interest in my game! I'd like to know, if possible, which language that is, because we're working with a few teams to translate it to a couple of other languages, so as to see we're not already doing it ourselves ^^
I apologize for the loss. I would like to translate it into Russian. I will say in advance that I do not support the actions of my government and do not support a war of aggression.
Thx this game look so nice :).
Hello, I wanted to know if it's possible to play with just one player and a narrator?
Hi! Yeah, it's totally possible!
Cool! So, would we then create additional Dessies, but as NPCs that are controlled by the Narrator?
There's really no need, but you can totally do it! Because enemies aren't necessary, nor is there a combat system to be balanced by number of Dessies, one can simply make an adventure where a single Dessy is born and has to discover the world on their own ^w^ But NPCs can also work! It all depends on what you want to play. NPCs can also be not-dessies, and just be other sentient things , like talking animals or other inanimate objects so really there's a lot of freedom there too if you want to have NPCs around~ As long as it's fun and silly, anything should be fair game tbh
Thank you!!
So adorable! Definitely think a progression system would be super awesome for this. Gonna pitch this to my little sister as an intro to ttrpgs since it's the perfect mix of cute, wholesome, and beginner friendly :3
Thank you so much! I'll definitely work on that progression system, and maybe expand on some ideas about how to make a longer campaign.
So glad you found it beginner friendly, i tried to keep it simple so that new people could pick this up without issue ^^
